More Listeria-Contaminated Cheese In Quebec

Ferme Raymond Alary et Fils (1981) Inc. has voluntarily recalled three types of cheese sold under the brand name "Les Fromagiers de la Table Ronde" due to a risk of contamination by Listeria monocytogenes.

The recall encompasses all of the following products bearing production or "best before" dates of July 14 or later. The recalled products are identified as:

  • Le Fleur de Lysé - lots no. 08135 to 08178
  • Le Fou du Roi - lots no. 08105 to 08247
  • Le Rassembleu - lots no. 08105 to 08247

The cheeses were sold in retail stores in intact packages, or may have been cut and repackaged for sale. In the latter case, the lot number or date may no longer show on the package. Any cut, repackaged cheese that carries the name "Les Fromagiers de la Table Ronde" should be considered to be part of this recall.

There is no indication in the recall notice whether or not any illnesses have been associated with this cheese. Nevertheless, under no circumstances should anyone consume the recalled items. The cheese either should be discarded in a safe manner or returned to the place of purchase for a refund.

For more information, retailers and consumers can call the Quebec government, toll-free, at 1-800-463-5023.
