United States
  • OTC Pharmaceutical Product Recall: McNeil Consumer Healthcare (Fort Washington, PA) recalls Tylenol® 8 Hour caplets 50 count bottles (Lot #BCM155; UPC 3 0045-0297-51 8) following the receipt of a number of complaints of a musty or moldy odor. The odor is thought to be caused by the presence of trace amounts of a chemical called 2,4,6-tribromoanisole. The recalled production lot was sold in the United States and Puerto Rico.
  • Food Safety Recall: Valley Farm Meats, dba Strasburg Provision, Inc. (Strasburg, OH) recalls approximately 2,413 pounds of various ready-to-eat meats that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. This is an expansion of a previous recall, which was announced on October 5th and brings the total quantity of recalled meat to 3,600 pounds. The recalled products were sold in a number of retail outlets, grocery stores, restaurants and diners in the state of Ohio on or after June 1, 2010.   • FDA Warning Letter: FDA warns Blum's Spring Lake Fisheries (Potosi, WI) that an April/May 2010 inspection of the company's seafood processing facility revealed serious violations of the seafood Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulation and the Current Good Manufacturing Practice regulation for foods.


Canada
  • Allergy Alert: Henlong Oriental Gifts & Foods Co. Ltd. (Surrey, BC) recalls four Thai processed fruit and vegetable products, because the products contain undeclared sulphites. Asia, Africa and the Pacific Islands
  • Food Safety Recall (Singapore and Fiji): B.-d Farm Paris Creek recalls Paris Creek Tilsit Cheese,Paris Creek Cheddar Cheese, Paris Creek Gouda Cheese and Paris Creek Norwegino Cheese (all best before dates from 18/10/10 up to and including 26/01/11), due to contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The recalled cheeses were manufactured in Australia and exported to Singapore and Fiji.


Australia and New Zealand
  • Food Safety Recall: B.-d Farm Paris Creek recalls Paris Creek Tilsit Cheese, Paris Creek Cheddar Cheese, Paris Creek Gouda Cheese and Paris Creek Norwegino Cheese (all best before dates from 18/10/10 up to and including 26/01/11), due to contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The recalled cheeses were sold in supermarkets and other food retail outlets throughout Australia.
