Recall Roundup: August 2, 2010

Europe
  • Food Safety Recall (Finland): Apetit Kala Oy recalls Pirkka graavisuolattuja kirjolohifileeviipaleita (150g plastic vacuum package; expiration date of 08/10/2010), after Listeria was found in a sample of the product. The recalled item was sold in Kesko stores throughout Finland.
  • Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1058): Foodborne outbreak suspected to be caused by chili con carne from France; distributed in France and Spain. No other details are available at this time. Anyone with information on this outbreak and notification, please email me.
  • Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1059): Salmonella Dublin in cheeses made from raw cow's milk from Germany; distributed in Germany and the Netherlands.
  • Pet Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1060): Salmonella in dog chews from Switzerland; distributed in Germany.
  • Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1061): Listeria monocytogenes in tuna (Thunnus albacares) from Sri Lanka; distributed in France.
  • Animal Feed Safety Notification (EU #2010.1062): Dioxins and polychlorobifenyls) in copper carbonate from Israel, via the United Kingdom; distributed in Ireland.
