United States
  • Allergy Alert: The South Bend Chocolate Company (South Bend, IN) recalls 174 1-lb bags of Bountiful Blend, a blend of chocolate covered mixed nuts and dried fruits (Item #154; produced on or after March 18, 2010), because it contains undeclared cashews, almonds, pecans, and Brazil nuts. Bountiful Blend was sold via internet sales, mail order and may have been sold nationwide through the company's distributors to retail stores.
  • Allergy Alert: KOYO Foods recalls Koyo Soba Dry Ramen, 2.1 oz (all code dates) because the product contains undeclared soy protein.
  • Food Safety Recall: Au'some, Inc. (Monmouth Junction, NJ) recalls Trans Formers ‘Revenge of the Fallen™’ Crunchy Candies (Lot # 09168), after the California Department of Public Health finds unacceptable levels of lead in the candies. Au'some, Inc. imported the candies from China and distributed them through 99 Cent Only stores in California, Arizona, Nevada and Texas.
  • Dietary Supplement Safety Recall: EZVille, Ltd. (Ronkonkoma, NY) recalls Solo Slim® and Solo Slim® Extra Strength products (all product expiration dates up to and including August 2013), both marketed as dietary supplements for weight loss, after FDA finds undeclared Didesmethyl Sibutramine in a sample of Solo Slim®. The recalled products were sold to distributors and retail stores nationwide and via internet sales.
  • Dietary Supplement Safety Recall: EZVille, Ltd. (Ronkonkoma, NY) recalls Revivexxx® Extra Strength (all product expiration dates up to and including August 2013), after FDA finds undeclared tadalafil in a sample of the product. Tadalafil, an FDA-approved erectile-dysfunction drug, may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs such as nitroglycerin and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels. Consumers with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease often take nitrates. The recalled product was sold to distributors and retail stores nationwide and via internet sales.


Canada
  • Allergy Alert: Nutrisoya Inc. (St.-Hyacinthe, QC) expands its earlier recall of natur-a Glacé brand dairy-free frozen desserts to include additional flavors. The non-dairy desserts are being recalled due to the presence of undeclared milk. The recalled products were distributed in Québec and Ontario.
