We recently found serious mold growth on several unopened, individually wrapped pieces of a candy called BODY PARTS Gummy Candy. The candy is distributed by Frankford Candy and Chocolate Co. of Philadelphia, Pa, and...made in China.
    The Item # is: 20967 M
    UPC code is: 4137620967
    Lot # (I think) is: 0153M1
Items purchased at a CVS in Larchmont, NY.
    Beware!

  3. @Anonymous, thanks for the heads up!

To any of the Admins or members here - do we know if there was an official recall or any such notices regarding the 'Body Parts' product by Frankford Candy & Chocolate Co.? As of yesterday, November 21st 2010, this product was still being sold at a Walmart in Monroe, NY. Any additional information is appreciated!

  4. @Anonymous (Nov 22nd).- I have not seen any official recall, or any additional information on the mold issue for this product as of this evening (Nov 22nd @6:30pm). I've checked the FDA site, the company's web site and the newswire feeds that I monitor.

The problem could either be at the manufacturing level, the warehouse level or the distribution/retail level. It's unlikely that a recall will take place, IMO. Best thing to do when in doubt is to avoid the product.

  5. I was told there were two products , Gummy Bugs and Bodyparts , all made in China . The CVS store manager told me they were not told to pull the bugs , yet mine had mold in my bag.
I just found this post today because I never received an answer from the company . I did get a refund from the store .
China products scare me now , especially if companys do not pull products with problems

  6. Gummy Body parts candy; Frankford Candy and Chocolate of Phili PA. Product of China

Found mold as well. Didn't realize it was mold at first cause we were eating them in a pretty dark room (Halloween!). Didn't realize they were moldy till well after my cousin and I ate plenty. Been sick to my stomach for 3 days now as well as Diarreah. Sounds like poison to me.
