Europe
  • Food Safety Recall Update (France): Magasins LECLERC de Normandie recalls ECO+ / LECLERC frozen ground beef patties (20% fat; 10 x 100g), sold beginning on September 16, 2010 in E. Leclerc stores in Calvados (14), l'Eure (27), la Manche (50), l'Ome (61) and la Seine-Maritime (76). The affected lots (#10105288, 10105311 and 10105330) bear an expiration date of 10/09/2011 and were recalled due to Salmonella contamination.
  • Food Safety Recall (UK): The Co-operative Group recalls certain batches of The Co-operative Lemon and Lime Flavour Still Spring Water Drink (6 x 500ml bottles; Best before December 2010 and February 2011; Batch codes L0158, L0159, L0175, L0179, L0229, and L0230) because of an unpleasant smell and the possible risk of mold growth.
  • Pharmaceutical Product Safety Recall (France): GrĂ¼nenthal recalls Rovamycine Nourrisons 375,000 IU/5mL syrup (150mL vial; lots #529 and 536) due to stability test results that did not meet specifications.
  • Pharmaceutical Product Recall (France): Bristol-Myers Squibb recalls ACTISKENAN 10mg capsules (box of 14; Lot #M6518; Expiry 04/2013), due to a labeling error.
  • Pharmaceutical Product Recall (France): Orphan Europe recalls Cystadane 1g oral powder (Lot CYP1004; Expiry April 2013), due to an error in the expiration date marked on the packages.
  • Pharmaceutical Product Safety Recall (UK): UCB Pharma Ltd. recalls Ergocalciferol Injection BP 300,000U (10 x 1ml ampoules; Batch #526348; Expiry Oct 2013), because a process deviation occurred during manufacture, which means that the usual sterility assurance level cannot be guaranteed.
  • Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1570): Unauthorised use of colour E 160b - annato/bixin/norbixin in curry powder from Vietnam, via the Netherlands; distributed to Finland.
  • Animal Feed Safety Notification (EU #2010.1571): Salmonella enteritidis in fish meal from Denmark; distributed to Finland.
  • Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1572): Escherichia coli in chilled clams (Tapes decussatus) from Tunisia; distributed to Italy.
  • Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1573): Listeria monocytogenes in sheep's milk cheese from Greece; distributed to Belgium and Luxembourg.
  • Food Supplement Safety Notification (EU #2010.1574): Arsenic in Fucus vesiculosus powder from France; distributed to Belgium.
  • Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1575): Unauthorised use of colour E 123 - amaranth in cracker and wafer sandwich filled with chocolate cream from the Philippines, via the Netherlands; distributed to Finland.
  • Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1576): Carbendazim and thiophanate-methyl in green peppers from Turkey, via Germany; distributed to Austria.
  • Consumer Product Safety Notification (EU #201.1577): Roasting bags in not suitable for heating; distributed to Spain.
