• Allergy Alert: Barrel O' Fun Snack Foods Co (Perham, MN) recalls Valu Time Salt & Vinegar Potato Chips, 5 oz (all "best by" dates before 05 MAY 2011), because the product contains undeclared milk protein. The recalled product was sold through distribution centers in Virginia, Nebraska and Kansas for distribution to retail grocery stores throughout the USA.
• Allergy Alert: Rich Products Corporation (Buffalo, NY) recalls Sonny's Barbecue Deep Deveined Shrimp (product code 80692), because the product contains undeclared whey in the coating of the shrimp. The recalled shrimp was sold to foodservice distributors in the Southeastern United States for exclusive use by Sonny's Real Pit Bar-B-Q restaurants.
• Food Safety Recall: United Food Group, LLC (Vernon, CA) recalls approximately 7,875 pounds of ready-to-eat Angus Beef patties that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
• Food Safety Recall: FingerLakes Farms LLC (Plant #36-1131) recalls Ithaca Milk Company Lowfat Milk and Ithaca Milk Company Cream on Top Whole Milk (quart, half-gallon and gallon sizes of plastic containers; SELL BY 013111), because the milk was improperly pasteurized. The recalled milk was distributed in the Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Finger Lakes regions of New York State.

Canada

• Allergy Alert: Thrifty Foods (Coquitlam, BC) recalls in-store baked Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies, incorrectly labeled as Chocolate Chip Cookies (500g; Best before 11.JAN.25), because the cookies contain undeclared peanuts.
• Food Safety Recall: Super Asia Food & Spices Ltd. (Woodbridge, ON) recalls Mehran brand Chilli Powder (Product of Pakistan; 200g and 400g size; Best Before April-2013), because the chilli powder may be contaminated with Salmonella. The recalled products were distributed in Ontario.

Europe

• Food Safety Recall (UK): Oriental Merchant (Europe) Ltd. recalls Mas-River Fried Dace with Salted Black Beans, 184g (Product of Malaysia; Best before 30 April 2013), because the product contains high levels of histamine, and can cause scombrotoxin fish poisoning if eaten.

Asia, Africa and the Pacific Islands

• Allergy Alert (Taiwan): The China Post reports that health officials are suggesting consumers carefully wash daylily flowers when having hot pot, because about one-half of the samples tested by health officials in Taipei were found to have excess traces of sulphur dioxide.

Australia and New Zealand

• Consumer Product Safety Recall (Australia): Clemnor Pty Ltd recalls Global Keratin Hair Taming System with Juvexin Light Wave (300mL and 1000mL) and Global Keratin Hair Taming System with Juvexin Curly (300mL and 1000mL), because the products contain free formaldehyde in excess of the allowable limit. The recalled items were sold for salon professional use across Australia.

• Allergy Alert (December 18th): Seoul Trading Corporation recalls Choripdong brand frozen dumplings (810g packages; imported from Korea; all date codes), because the dumplings contain undeclared egg. The recalled dumplings are known to have been distributed in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario (Toronto), and may have been sold nationwide.
• Allergy Alert (December 22nd): Federated Co-operatives Ltd. (Saskatoon, SK) recalls all lot codes of Quaker brand Chewy Granola Bars Value Pack (14 bars; 364g), because the packs may contain Quaker brand Dipps granola bars that contain peanuts. The affected packs were previously recalled on November 24th, but may have been distributed after the original recall through Co-op retail stores in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario.
• Allergy Alert (December 22nd): Heng Hing Dry Seafood Inc. recalls Fei Dun Chocolates (all best before dates), because the product contains undeclared peanuts.
• Allergy Alert (December 22nd): CFIA advises consumers that the importer has recalled VSC Chocolats Brandy Beans Brandy Liqueur Chocolates (200g package; made in Germany; lot code L7058 J8 and L7157 J8), because the product may contain undeclared milk. The recalled chocolates were distributed across Canada.
• Allergy Alert (December 24th): Brand Castle LLC (Chicago, IL) recalls Kellogg's Rice Krispies Treats Holiday Village Kit (666g package; all best before dates), because the product contains undeclared egg. The kits, which were imported from the USA, are known to have been distributed in Michael's, Winners and HomeSense stores across Canada, and may also have been sold in other stores.
• Allergy Alert (December 27th): Thrifty Foods Broadmead (Victoria, BC) recalls in-store baked Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies, incorrectly labelled as Chocolate Chip Cookies (Best Before 29 DE 10).
• Food Safety Recall (December 21st): Réal Veer Inc. (Sainte-Claire, QC) recalls raw shell eggs, imported from the USA (lot code SEA-1024796; Best before JAN-18-11) because the eggs may be contaminated with Salmonella. The recalled eggs were distributed in the province of Québec.
• Food Safety Recall (December 21st): Yie Ming (Canada) Ltd., recalls Yu Yuan brand vacuum packed Sweet Glutinous Corn (all lot codes), imported from China, because the product may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum. The recalled product was sold in British Columbia.
• Food Safety Recall (December 22nd): McCormick Canada recalls certain lot codes of Club House One Step Lemon and Herbs Seasoning, Club House Sesame Seeds, Sysco Sesame Seeds and Trade East Sesame Seeds, because the products may be contaminated with Salmonella.
• Food Safety Recall (December 24th): Whole Foods Market (Toronto, ON) recalls Rolf's Patisserie brand and Whole Foods Market brand Ginger Bread Houses, imported from the USA, because the products may be contaminated with Staphylococcus aureus. The recalled ginger bread houses were sold in Whole Foods stores in Ontario.
• Food Safety Recall (December 27th): J & D Produce Inc. (Texas, USA) recalls Little Bear brand fresh greens (shipped to Canada between November 30th and December 7th, inclusive), because the fresh greens may be contaminated with Salmonella. The recalled produce items were distributed to grocery stores (including Maxi in Montreal, QC) and may have been sold nationwide. • Food Safety Recall: N.Y. Gourmet Salads, Inc. (Brooklyn, NY) recalls an undetermined quantity of various meat and poultry products that were produced between March 11, 2010 and October 29, 2010 without federal inspection and were distributed to retail establishments in New York. These products were the subject of a public health alert issued on October 30th. Included in the list of recalled items are 4.5, 5.0 and/or 6.0 pound containers of Lemon Grilled Chicken, Meatballs, Meatballs and Sauce, Swedish Meatballs, Sausage and Peppers, Chicken Salad, Grilled Chicken, Grilled Chicken Plain, Breaded Chicken, Stuffed Cabbage, Teriyaki Grilled Chicken and Chopped Chicken Liver.
• Food Safety Recall (Update): The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation has confirmed that non-organic ground nutmeg, which was recalled recently by Frontier Natural Products Co-op due to potential Salmonella contamination, was distributed in Alaska.

Canada

• Allergy Alert: Grandpa Jimmy's Scottish Bakery (Grand Bend, ON) recalls several bakery products due to the presence of undeclared milk or sulphites. The recalled items, which include Cherry Cake, Dark Christmas Cake, Glasgow Gingerbread, Light Christmas Cake, Dundee Cake and Sultana Cake, were distributed in Ontario.
• Food Safety Recall (Expansion): Saputo, Inc. (Montreal, QC) expands its earlier recall of processed cheese slice products to include four additional Faith Farms brand process cheese products, St.-Albert Ribbon Slices Process Cheese Food, unbranded PCF-Colored Pullman, and three Sunspun brand process cheese products. The recalled process cheese foods were distributed nationally through retailers, cash & carry stores and delis, and may also have been sold to food service institutions such as restaurants, hospitals, day care centres and nursing homes. The recalled items may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Europe

• Food Safety Recall (UK): InBev recalls some batches of Stella Artois beer (250mL bottles) because they might contain small pieces of glass. Some of the recalled beer was distributed to Sainsbury's.
• Food Safety Recall (Denmark): Coop Danmark A/S recalls oksecuvetter, 1.2kg (Expiry 30 December 2010), imported from Germany by Danish Crown amba, due to contamination with Salmonella. The recalled beef was sold in Superbrugsen and Kvickly stores in certain cities.
• Food Safety Recall (Italy): Ipermercato Gros Cidac s.r.l. advises its customers that Mellin spa recalls Mellin pasta (Lot #302) after finding a small amount of piperonyl butoxide in the product.
• Animal Feed Safety Notification (EU #2010.1641): Salmonella Agona in rapemeal from Belgium; distributed to France.
• Consumer Product Safety Notification (EU #2010.1642): Migration of primary aromatic amines from black nylon ladles from China, via the Czech Republic; distributed to Slovakia.
• Food Supplement Safety Notification (EU #2010.1643): High content of iodine in seaweed based food supplement from the United Kingdom; distributed to Denmark.
• Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1644): Cadmium in frozen whole squids (Loligo douvaceli) from India; distributed to Italy.
• Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1645): Botulinum toxin (presence) in asparagus sauce from Italy; distributed to Italy. One illness has been reported to be linked to consumption of the product, which was recalled by the manufacturer, Apicoltura Brezzo srl. The recalled Crema di asparagi was packed in glass jars (Lot #2449 and 1619; expiration dates of 30/09/2012 and 16/06/2012, respectively).
• Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1646): Carbendazim in golden raisins from Iran; distributed to Lithuania.

Australia and New Zealand

• Cosmetic Product Safety Recall: Privity Pty Ltd (trading as HairCare Australia) recalls Brazilian Blowout Professional Smoothing Solution (all batches), after tests show that the product contains free formaldehyde in excess of the level considered to be safe. The product was distributed nationally to various hair dressing salons and was not available for direct sale to consumers.

• Food Safety Recall (Update): Ground nutmeg, which was recalled on November 30th by Frontier Natural Products Co-op (Norway, IA) due to possible contamination with Salmonella, was sold under the Frontier brand in Fred Meyer, City Market and King Soopers stores and under the Whole Foods 365 brand in Whole Foods Market stores.
• Food Safety Recall: Rushing Waters Fisheries of Palmyra recalls smoked trout spread (Lot #00694; sell by Dec 13, 2010) and smoked salmon spread (Lot #50012; sell by Dec 11, 2010), due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. At least some of the 225 pounds of recalled smoked spreads were sold in Whole Foods Market stores.
• Food Safety Recall: Bauman Orchards, Inc. (Rittman, OH) recalls approximately 50,000 gallons of Apple Cider because the cider was underprocessed. The recalled cider was packaged in gallon and half-gallon containers bearing manufacturing dates from September 1st through December 5th, 2010 and distributed to stores in Ohio.

Canada

• Allergy Alert: Dépanneur du Boisé Marieville (Marieville, QC) recalls banana cake (gâteau quatre-quarts aux bananes due to the presence of undeclared soy protein, and carrot & pineapple cake (gâteau quatre-quarts aux carottes et ananas) due to the presence of undeclared milk and soy proteins.
• Food Safety Recall: Country Herbs (Courtland, ON) recalls Country Herbs brand and Longo's brand Thai Basil (lot code 32277251), because the products may be contaminated with Salmonella. The recalled Thai basil was distributed only in Ontario.
• Food Safety Recall: Importers and retailers are recalling Ground Nutmeg, imported from the USA, because the product may be contaminated with Salmonella. The recalled ground nutmeg was sold from bulk at three retail stores in the province of Ontario.
• Dietary Supplement Safety Recall: Ying Tai TCM Supplying Ltd. recalls Fat Burner No. 1 after Health Canada finds undeclared sildenafil and N,N-didesmethylsibutramine in the product. Sibutramine is no longer authorized for sale in Canada, and sildenafil is a prescription drug that should only be used under the supervision of a healthcare practitioner. The recalled products were supplied to five retailers in Victoria, BC and Calgary, AB.

Europe

• Food Safety Recall (France): Carrefour recalls Carrefour Sélection brand fourme d'Ambert cheese (best before 25/12/2010), due to the presence of shiga-toxin producing E. coli O25:H11. The recalled product was sold by the slice between October 29th and November 30th, 2010.
• Food Safety Recall (Italy): Apicoltura Brezzo srl recalls Cream of Asparagus (Crema di asparagi) in glass jars (Lot #2449 and 1619; expiry dates of 30/09/2010 and 16/06/2010, respectively), after learning of a suspected case of botulism intoxication.
• Food Supplement Safety Recall (Denmark): Natural Resources recalls Pukka Weight Balance capsules (imported by The Natural Source) after excessive levels of iodine were found in the product. The imported supplement capsules were sold from health food shops, from individual practitioners and from Sticks 'n sushi restaurants.
• Medical Device Recall (UK): Johnson & Johnson Vision Care (Ireland) recalls 1-Day Acuvue TruEye (narafilcon A) contact lenses (lot numbers with the first six digits within the ranges 492237 to 492498 inclusive and 502080 to 502269 inclusive), due to higher than expected levels of decanoic acid.
• Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1636): Aflatoxins in brown basmati rice from India, via the United Kingdom; distributed to Denmark.
• Animal Feed Safety Notification (EU #2010.1637): Salmonella typhimurium in corn gluten feed from France; distributed to Belgium.
• Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1638): Too high content of E 211 - sodium benzoate, undeclared colour E 122 - azorubine, E 330 - citric acid and E 296 - malic acid in and incorrect labelling on pomegranate concentrate from Spain; distributed to Greece.
• Animal Feed Safety Notification (EU #2010.1639): Dioxins in calcium iodate pre-mix from India; distributed to Belgium and the Netherlands.
• Animal Feed Safety Notification (EU #2010.1640): Too high content of salinomycin in complementary feed for poultry from Belgium; distributed to Belgium and France.

The recalled products are Frontier Bulk Nutmeg Ground (16 oz; UPC 0-89836-00165-8; lot code 0306) and Whole Foods 365 Nutmeg Ground (1.92 oz glass bottle; UPC 0-99482-41931-8; lot code 0321). The recalled products were supplied to distributors, retailers and consumers in all 50 US states and in some parts of Canada.

This recall includes all best before dates up to and including December 1, 2010.
• Food Safety Recall: Lantic Inc. recalls Rogers Golden Yellow Sugar, 2kg bags (Lot B0327; Costco item #12144), because of possible metal contamination. The recalled product was sold in Costco Warehouse stores in Kamloops and Kelowna on November 26th and 27th.
• Consumer Product Safety Recall: Hydrotek (Mirabel, QC) recalls various water control chemical products because the products are corrosive and do not meet the warning labeling and child-resistant closure requirements under Canadian law for this type of chemical.

Europe

• Allergy Alert (Expanded): Pagen (Malmö, Sweden) expands its earlier recall of Pagen Good Shape and Pagen Cottages Good breads to include all expiration dates from 101027 to 101130 (Lot code 0300.xxxx to 0334.xxxx), due to the presence of undeclared peanuts. The recalled bread loaves were sold in Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Norway.
• Dietary Supplement Safety Recall (Denmark): SinoDane recalls a number of dietary supplements that contain unacceptable herbal ingredients that are known or suspected to have various adverse health effects. The recalled supplements were imported and marketed by SinoDane and were sold through alternative therapists throughout Denmark.
• Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1632): Mercury in fresh tuna from Spain; distributed to Italy.
• Animal Feed Safety Notification (EU #2010.1633): Salmonella Mbandaka in soy bean meal from Italy; distributed to Austria.
• Consumer Product Safety Notification (EU #2010.1634): Migration of lead from decorated plates from China; distributed to Poland.
• Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1635): Listeria monocytogenes in gorgonzola cheese from Italy; distributed to Italy and Sweden.

Asia, Africa and the Pacific Islands

• Cosmetics Products Alert (Saudi Arabia): The Saudi Food & Drug Authority has discovered an unlicensed factory, Markib Al Rafah Trading, which is involved in filling and packing 18 brands of cosmetic products, including hair oils, deodorants and incense. The Saudi FDA advises consumers to avoid the products listed on the agency web site (follow live link for the details).

United States

• Food Safety Recall: Cal-Maine Foods, Inc. recalls approximately 24,000 dozen eggs, which where purchased from Ohio Fresh Eggs, LLC (Croton, OH) and re-packaged at Cal-Maine's Green Forest, Arkansas facility between October 9th and October 12th, 2010. Cal-Maine initiated the recall immediately after learning that the Ohio Fresh Egg facility had a routine environmental sample that tested positive for Salmonella Enteritidis. The recalled eggs are labeled with Plant Number 1457 and a Julian Date of 282, 284 or 285, and were distributed under the Sunny Meadow, Springfield Grocer, and James Farm brands to food wholesalers and retailers in Arkansas, California, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas.
• Food Safety Recall: APPA Fine Foods (Corona, CA) recalls approximately 7,325 pounds of Spicy Thai Style Pasta Salad, 12 oz. (Est. No. P-21030; Use by Oct 31 or Nov. 1-6, 2010) because they contain cilantro that may be contaminated with Salmonella. The recalled pasta salad was sold to Trader Joe's for distribution in the retailer's California stores. In addition, the product was available in one Trader Joe's location each in Tucson, Arizona and in Reno and Carson City, Nevada.
• Food Safety Recall: Trader Joe's alerts its customers to a recall of Cilantro Dressing (sell by 2/9/2011), Spicy Peanut Vinaigrette (sell by 1/9/2011), Cilantro Pecan Dip (sell by 11/20/2010 and 11/24/2010) and Spicy Thai Pasta Salad (sell by 10/30/2010 through 11/6/2010). The cilantro ingredient in these products may be contaminated with Salmonella. The Pasta Salad was sold in California stores only. The Cilantro Pecan Dip was sold in Trader Joe's stores in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. The Cilantro Dressing and the Vinaigrette were available in all Trader Joe's, nationwide.
• Food Safety Recall (Retail Distribution): USDA posts retail distribution list for canned meat and poultry products that were recalled by Eickman's Processing due to underprocessing. The recalled products were distributed to retailers in Illinois, only.
• Food Safety Recall: Baugher Enterprise, Inc. (Westminster, MD), is recalling all production of Baugher's Apple Cider because it may be contaminated with Escherichia coli O157:H7. The recalled cider is sold in gallon and one-half gallon plastic jugs in retail stores in Maryland and the Gettysburg area of Pennsylvania. Consumption of the recalled product may be linked to a cluster of seven E. coli O157:H7 infections; three victims have been hospitalized.
• Food Safety Recall: Publix advises customers that Abbott Nutrition has recalled Similac Sensitive for Spit-Up™ powdered infant formula (12.3 oz cans, Lot No. 92957RB70). This product was involved in the original recall, but was released inadvertently by Abbott for sale.
• OTC Pharmaceutical Product Recall: Giant Food Stores advises customers that the manufacturer has recalled Chlor-Trimeton Allergy 12 Hour ER Tablets (UPC 4110080735), after stability test results were determined to be out of specification.
• Cosmetic Product Safety Advisory: Rhode Island Department of Health advises the public that decorative contact lenses being sold without prescription may produce corneal abrasions and temporary vision impairment. The Department of Health has confiscated decorative contact lenses from retail locations that were selling the product without a prescription.

Europe

• Allergy Alert (UK): Marathon Foods recalls Anthos sultanas (350g; all best before dates between 3 July 2011 and 9 February 2010), because they contain undeclared sulphur dioxide.
• Food Safety Recall (Ireland): Beechvale Waters expands its earlier recall to include some 19 liter plastic containers for water dispensers, due to possible presence of E. coli. The recalled bottled water originated in the United Kingdom.
• Food Safety Recall (Ireland): The Food Safety Authority of Ireland advises the public that a product recall is being carried out on all batches of Sokolów Home Black Pudding Sausage and Grill Black Pudding Sausage, due to the detection of high levels of Listeria monocytogenes in the products. The recalled products were imported from Poland and distributed to two wholesalers in Ireland.
• Allergy Alert Safety Notification (EU #2010.1512): Undeclared fish in frozen paella from Sweden; distributed to the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Sweden.
• Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1513): Aflatoxins in ginger from Nigeria, via Germany; distributed to Poland.

Asia, Africa and the Pacific Islands

• Food Safety Alert (Saudi Arabia): Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) warns that Nab'a Potable Water, produced by Nab'a Health Potable Water Plant of Tabuk and Al Khalidiyah Potable Water, produced by Al Khalidiyah Water Plant in Al Kharj province have exceeded the maximum permitted level of bromate. SFDA has requested that steps be taken to halt production at both plants and to recall the products from the market until the problem has been rectified.

United States

• Food Safety Recall: Sampco, Inc. (Chicago, IL) recalls approximately 258,000 pounds of cooked beef products that were imported from an ineligible Brazilian establishment. The establishment (Brazilian establishment SIF 337) was delisted by USDA on May 6, 2010 after repeat violative levels of the animal drug Ivermectin were confirmed in its products. The following products are being recalled after USDA/FSIS determined that these products were shipped into commerce despite the Brazilian firm's ineligible status. The eight recalled lots of product include 12-ounce cans of Libby Corned Beef (shipped to distribution centers in Florida and Pennsylvania), 7-ounce pouches of Brushy Creek Shredded Beef (shipped to distribution centers in Missouri, New Jersey and Ohio, 10-ounce Brushy Creek Roast Beef (shipped to distribution centers in California, Missouri, New Jersey and Texas, and 12-ounce cans of Kroger Corned Beef (shipped to distribution centers in Indiana). Each retail product package bears the legend "Brasil 337 S.I.F.," as well as "Product of Brazil" or "Packed under Brazilian Government Inspection."
• Food Safety Recall: Valley Farm Meats (Strasburg, OH) recalls Casing Wieners (Julian date 0203), Rope Sausage (Julian date 0207), Big Bologna (Julian date 0207), Dutch Loaf (Julian date 0221) and Ham and Cheese (Julian date 0222 and 0232), because of improper labeling. The recalled products were sold between June 12 and September 2, 2010 at Valley Farm Meats (Strasburg, OH) and Hickory Hill Meats (Marietta, OH).
• FDA Warning Letter: FDA warns Penguin Juice Company, Inc. (Westland, MI) that a March/April 2010 inspection of the company's juice processing facility revealed serious violations of the juice Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulation.
• FDA Warning Letter: FDA warns Hard-E-Foods, Inc. (St. Louis, MO) that a May 2010 inspection of the company's manufacturing facility revealed deviations from the Act and Regulations relating to the processing of certain acidified foods.
• FDA Warning Letter: FDA warns Unlimited Nutrition (Graham, NC) that a February 2010 inspection of the company's facility and a review of the firm's web site revealed that certain of the company's products were being marketed as dietary supplements in violation of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.
• FDA Warning Letter: FDA warns Embrede SA (Guyaquil, Ecuador) that a May 2010 inspection of the company's seafood processing facility revealed serious violations of the seafood Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulation and the Current Good Manufacturing Practice regulation for foods.

Canada

• Unauthorized Health Product Safety Recall: Health Canada announces the recall of E.O.D. Erection On Demand, an unauthorized health product, after tests of the product reveal the presence of undeclared tadalafil. The problem was brought to the attention of Health Canada via a consumer complaint regarding Kaytel Video's sale of the product. Health Canada is working with the Canada Border Services Agency to stop future importation of any shipments of E.O.D. Erection On Demand.

Europe

• Food Safety Recall (UK): Aldi Stores Ltd. recalls Aldi Stonemill Ground Coriander, 40g (Best before 14 October 2012; batch 14.10.12 C2), because Salmonella was detected in a sample of the product.
• Food Safety Recall (Denmark): Mogens Eggers Eftf ApS recalls sliced pork (stegestykke), sold to wholesalers and caterers, after Salmonella was detected in a sample.
• Food Product Withdrawal (Ireland): Ella's Kitchen withdraws certain baby foods due to the possible presence of yeast growth within the feeding straw inside the pouch. The recalled baby foods were manufactured in Italy.
• Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1229): Benzo(a)pyrene in whole smoked crayfish from Nigeria; distributed to the United Kingdom.
• Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1230): Norovirus (genogroup I and II) in romaine lettuce from Germany; distributed to Denmark.
• Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1231): Parasitic infestation with Anisakis of chilled anglerfish (Lophius piscatorius) from the United Kingdom; distributed to Italy.

Asia, Africa and the Pacific Islands

• Chinese Herbal Medicine Alert (Hong Kong): The Department of Health advises consumers who have purchased any of two Chinese herbs, "Rhizoma et Radix Notopterygii" and "Radix Dipsaci", from a licensed Chinese herbal medicines retailer in North Point, American Ginseng Co., not to consume the herbs as they were found to be contaminated with aconitum alkaloids, which can be poisonous if consumed.
