  • Food Safety Recall: Daniele, Inc. recalls "Pepper-Coated Salame" products due to Salmonella concerns. Investigation of 184 cases of salmonellosis in 38 states reveals that at least 11 victims consumed salame products from Daniele Italian Brand Gourmet Pack. Daniele meats are sold nationwide in supermarkets and high-end delis, including Giant/Martin's and ShopRite stores.
  • Medical Device Recall: Nipro Medical Corporation recalls all GlucoPro Insulin Syringes with expiration dates before 2011-11 (Nov 1, 2011), because the needles may detach from the syringes during use.

  1. I just purchased Daniele Sopressata last Friday and servied it to my guests. I also had some last night too. Gosh, they knew about this since July........why was it just announced on the News 6 months later. Do they wait for people to die first? I'm livid.

    It took them that long to connect the dots and figure out the source of the outbreak. These things can be a real puzzle to solve, especially when the strain of Salmonella that is making people sick is a common strain, as this one is.

    If you or your guests start to experience any symptoms in the next few days (nausea, diarrhea, etc.), please get medical attention and also contact your local or state health department to report the illness and the possible association with Daniele.
