Recall Roundup: April 10, 2010

United States
  • Food Safety Recall: MY-A & Co. (Cheverly, MD) recalls 3.5oz jars of Ground Black Pepper Double Golden Fish because they may be contaminated with Salmonella. The recalled black pepper (see picture) was sold in retail stores in Georgia, Texas, Illinois, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio, New York, Massachusetts, Maine, and Florida.
  • Food Safety Recall: H-E-B recalls certain date codes of H-E-B French Onion Dip (8, 16 and 24-ounce sizes) because the products may be contaminated with Salmonella. The recall is limited to packages bearing date codes of 4/15/2010, 4/20/2010, 4/23/2010 and 4/24/2010.


Canada
  • Food Safety Recall: Canadian Food Inspection Agency advises consumers that certain Inovacure, Proti Diet, and ProtiLife Diet soup mixes, and a soup mix produced for Dr. Bernstein Health & Diet Clinics contain hydrolyzed vegetable protein recalled by Basic Food Flavors and have been recalled due to a Salmonella contamination risk.
  • Consumer Products Safety Recall: Distributions (Daniel Coderre) Inc. (Montreal, QC) recalls Clip-on Metallic Toe Rings because Health Canada has determined that they contain lead in excess of the allowable limit. The recalled toe rings were sold from November 2004 to March 2010 in the province of Québec.
