Pet Carousel Recalls All Pig Ears and All Beef Hooves

United States
  • Pet Treat Safety Recall: Pet Carousel recalls all Pig Ears and all varieties of Beef Hoof pet treats because the products may be contaminated with Salmonella. The problem was discovered after FDA testing found positive results for Salmonella in pig ears and beef hoof products. This recall follows a Health Alert issued by FDA on November 5th. The recalled pet treats were distributed across the United States.


Europe
  • Food Safety Recall (Denmark): Johs Jensen Fish and Mussel Export A/S recalls mussels that were found to a higher than permitted level of E. coli bacteria. The mussels were packed in 1 Kg bags and sold under the Jacob Kongsbak Lassen's Logo to grocery stores and canteens in Zealand and Lolland-Falster.
  • Food Safety Notification (EU #2009.1707): Ochratoxin A in sweet paprika powder from Spain; distributed to Commission Services.
  • Feed Contamination Notification (EU #2009.1709): Salmonella in soybean meal from Italy; distributed in Austria.
  • Consumer Product Safety Notification (EU #2009.1710): Migration of cobalt (heavy metal) from porcelain cup from China; distributed in Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia.


Asia, Africa & The Pacific
  • Unregistered Drug Alert (Hong Kong): The Department of Health urges consumers not to buy or use a product named 2H&2D for managing sexual dysfunction as it was found to contain tadalafil which may cause side effects.
