Peanut Butter Products: US Recalls, Q-R

Peanut Corporation of America supplied peanut butter to as many as 85 direct customers. Following is Part IX (letters Q-R) of the eFoodAlert list of US consumer product recalls of foods for human consumption.

Unless otherwise indicated below, recalled products were distributed through supermarket grocery chains, warehouse chains, independent grocery stores, convenience stores, and other retail outlets.

Rain Creek Baking Corporation

Rain Creek has recalled Sinbad, Michael's and Rain Creek Baking brands of dessert products. Recalled items will show an expiration or best before date of 11/01/07 through 12/31/07, 01/01/08 through 12/31/08 or 01/01/09 through 07/22/09. All lot numbers between 07180 sequentially through 09022 are affected.

Ralcorp Frozen Bakery Products, Inc.

Ralcorp has recalled its Food Lion Bake Shop brand PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES. The recalled products will have a lot code of 9200 or less and are sold in "... 12 count clear plastic clamshell containers in the in-store bakery sections of Food Lion grocery stores."

These cookies, which were also labeled with the "Bloom" store brand, were sold in Food Lion and Bloom grocery stores.

Separately, Ralcorp also announced the recall of:

• Lofthouse® brand Peanut Butter Cookies, in 12-count clear plastic clamshell containers
  
• Lofthouse® brand Peanut Butter No-Bake Cookies, in 9- or 12-count clear plastic clamshell containers
  
• Lofthouse® brand Peanut Butter Fudge No-Bake Cookies, in 9- or 12-count clear plastic clamshell containers
  
• Parco Foods' Chuck's Chunky® food service brand Peanut Butter Cookies, in 5-pound boxes
  
• Pastries Plus Gourmet Cookies, in 21-count clear plastic containers.
  

All recalled products bear a lot code of 9200 or less. The Lofthouse products were sold in the in-store bakery sections of grocery stores; Parco is distributed to food service customers, and Pastries Plus is sold through select club stores.

Ralcorp also has recalled several varieties of peanut butter cookies sold under the Wal-Mart brand, including Peanut Butter Cookies, Peanut Butter No-Bake Cookies and Peanut Butter Fudge No-Bake Cookies. The cookies, which bear a lot code of 9200 or less, are sold in the in-store bakery sections of Wal-Mart stores in all states except: Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.
