McCain Healthy Choice Apricot Chicken Recalled in Australia

March 4, 2009

McCain Food Pty Ltd has recalled a single production code of its Healthy Choice Apricot Chicken due to the presence of Bacillus cereus in the food, according to Product Recalls Australia.

The recalled item is described as follows:

  • McCain Healthy Choice Apricot Chicken (350g; cardboard box outer with plastic tray inner): Best Before 24 Aug 2010

According to a news release issued by the company and reported by WA Today, the recalled cartons of Apricot Chicken were shipped by mistake from an independent distribution outlet before lab tests were undertaken.

The recalled products were available for purchase at Woolworths and Safeway stores in New South Wales, Victoria and the Australian Capital Territory.

Consumers should return the recalled item to their retailer for a refund.
