Recall Roundup: August 6, 2009

United States
  • Food Safety Recall: Beef Packers, Inc. (Fresno, CA) recalls 825,769 pounds of ground beef products that may be linked to an outbreak of salmonellosis. The recalled meat was sold at Sam's Club and may also have been available in other retail stores, including stores in Indiana.
  • Product Recall: Food City advises that Marzetti Light Caesar Vinaigrette has been recalled. No details are given.


Canada
  • Allergy Alert: Canadian Food Inspection Agency reports that all codes of Bite brand Korean Biscuit, sold in 160 g packages bearing UPC 8 801544 130091 have been recalled due to the presence of undeclared milk. The recalled product was distributed in Quebec and Ontario.
  • Allergy Alert: Canadian Food Inspection Agency reports that Wong Wing VEGETABLE Egg Roll packages, recalled earlier due to the presence of undeclared sesame, was distributed in Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia and the Atlantic provinces.


Australia & New Zealand
  • Food Safety Recall (New Zealand): Fonterra Brands (Tip Top) Ltd recalls several Weight Watchers and Moritz Dolce Vita brand ice cream cups due to potential contamination with small pieces of metal. The recalled ice cream products were distributed in the North Island only.
  • Food Safety Recall (Australia): Fonterra Brands (Australia) Pty Ltd recalls three Hastings Valley Dairy and Norco brand custard products due to contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The recalled items were distributed in New South Wales and Queensland.
