Recall Roundup: August 17, 2009

Here is today's list of food safety recalls, product withdrawals and allergy alerts. The live links will take you directly to the official recall notices and company news releases that contain detailed information for each recall and alert.

  • Food Safety Recall (UK): Naga Raja Ltd. (London) has ceased production of Shutki Raja Chutney Powder after the UK Food Standards Agency determined that the chutney powder had been produced on unregistered (or unapproved) premises. Existing supplies of the recalled product have been withdrawn from sale and will be destroyed. Distribution of the Shutki Raja Chutney Powder is believed to have been limited to the London area.

Some supermarket chains post recall notices on their web sites for the convenience of customers. To see whether a recalled food was carried by your favorite supermarket, follow the live link to the supermarket's recall web site.
