Europe

• Allergy Alert (Finland): Oy Arvid Nordquist Finland Ab recalls Piasten Amore Mio chocolate confections (with cherry brandy filling) due to the presence of undeclared residues of peanut, nut and wheat.
• Food Safety Alert (Denmark): Food Agency warns that pork and beef sold from the address Hjørring Road 14, 9400 Nørresundby comes from animals that did not either before or after the slaughter has been subject to any control by the food authorities. Furthermore, the slaughters carried out without authorization and under unsanitary conditions.
• Food Safety Notification (EU#2009.1642): Aflatoxins in dried figs from Turkey; distributed in Slovenia
• Food Safety Notification (EU #2009.1643): Unauthorized colour Sudan 4 in palm oil from Ghana, via the United Kingdom; distributed in Ireland
• Food Safety Notification (EU #2009.1644): Unauthorized establishment (insufficient hygiene) and fraudulent use of health mark for meat products from Italy; distributed in Germany and Italy
• Food Safety Notification (EU #2009.1645): Nicotine in dried Boletus mushrooms from Italy, with raw material from Serbia; distributed in Slovenia
• Food Safety Notification (EU #2009.1646): Listeria monocytogenes in cooked prawns (Penaeus vannamei) from Ecuador and Spain; distributed in Italy
• Food Safety Notification (EU #2009.1647): Excessive Escherichia coli in live clams (Tapes decussatus) from Turkey; distributed in Italy

Australia and New Zealand

• Shellfish Alert (West Australia): Department of Health is reminding people not to eat shellfish collected from Wilson Inlet near Denmark (West Australia) after recent tests confirmed elevated levels of potentially toxic algae. Shellfish sold in supermarkets is not affected by this advisory.
