Recall Roundup: November 19, 2009

United States
  • Allergy Alert: Nassau Candy Distributors (Hicksville, NY) recalls possibly unlabeled pegable snack tubs because they contain undeclared almonds, soy and milk and may also contain other undeclared allergens.
  • Sport Fishing Alert: North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services issues a fish consumption advisory for walleye and largemouth bass in Lake Gaston due to the presence of mercury in these species of fish.
  • Food Safety Alert: San Miguel Produce Inc. (Oxnard, CA) requests that all Kale Product with the expired “USE BY” date of 11/9/2009 with the lot code of 14398 be discarded after the Ohio Department of Agriculture reports having found Listeria in a sample of the company's “Cut `n Clean Greens” Kale.
  • OTC Pharmaceutical Product Recall: The Procter & Gamble Company recalls three lots of its Vicks Sinex nasal spray in the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom after the bacterium B. cepacia was found in a sample of product that was made at its plant in Gross Gerau, Germany.


Canada
  • Allergy Alert: Boulangerie d'Autrefois recalls several pies due to the presence of undeclared soy and sulfites
  • Allergy Alert: Marché André Tellier Inc recalls Trempette maison and Croûton à l'ail due to the presence of undeclared soy protein, eggs and/or milk


Europe
  • OTC Pharmaceutical Product Recall: The Procter & Gamble Company recalls three lots of its Vicks Sinex nasal spray in the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom after the bacterium B. cepacia was found in a sample of product that was made at its plant in Gross Gerau, Germany.
  • Food Safety Notification (EU #2009.1596): Salmonella in minced beef from Poland; distributed in Sweden
  • Animal Feed Safety Notification (EU #2009.1598): Salmonella Oranienburg in fish meal from Germany; distributed in the Czech Republic
  • Food Safety Notification (EU #2009.1599): Salmonella enterica in onion powder from India; distributed in France, Germany, Greece, Poland, Slovakia, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
