Another group of school children and their teachers have been stricken with food poisoning.
On February 29th, Novosti, the Russian News and Information Agency, reported that 86 kindergarten children had been hospitalized in East Siberia due to acute gastroenteritis. Today, Novosti reported that the total number of victims had risen to 150, including 117 children. Twenty-five adults and 85 children are in hospital; 5 of the children are in intensive care.
Authorities suspect that the outbreak is linked to meatballs made with liver imported from the Netherlands and served in a meal at the kindergarten. The investigation into the outbreak is continuing.
