Recall Roundup: October 8, 2009

Here is today's list of food safety recalls, product withdrawals and allergy alerts. The live links will take you directly to the official recall notices and company news releases that contain detailed information for each recall and alert.


Canada
  • Allergy Alert: Marché St. Joseph/MetroPlus (3600, boulevard Saint-Joseph Est, Montréal, QC) recalls certain ready-to-eat dishes due to the presence of undeclared milk protein, soy, and/or sesame.


Europe
  • Food Safety Alert and Recall (Finland): The Finnish Food Safety Authority (Evira) advises that frozen raspberries imported from Poland may be contaminated with Norovirus. The suspected lot has been recalled from the market. The raspberries have been associated with outbreaks of norovirus gastroenteritis. Consumers, caterers and restaurants are advised to use imported raspberries only after heating for at least 2 minutes at 90ºC in order to inactivate any virus particles that may be present.
