- Pet Food Recall: Wysong Pet Foods recalls certain production lots of Wysong Maintenance™ and Wysong Senior™ dry pet foods, manufactured in June and July 2009, due to the presence of mold in the products.

- Food Safety Recall (EU #2009.1350): histamine in frozen tuna loins from India; distributed in Ireland.
- Food Safety Recall (EU #2009.1352): Listeria monocytogenes (700 CFU/g) in smoked salmon from Denmark; distributed in Italy
Asia, Africa & The Pacific
- Food Adulteration Alert (India): Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) Health Department raided Gayatri Food Products at Pushparaj estate in Bapunagar and seized 1,000 kg adulterated spices which include chili powder, turmeric powder and coriander powder, because they were adulterated with coal tar and diluted with added flour and salt.
