- Food Safety Recall (Reissue): California Department of Public Health warns consumers not to eat certain Del Monte brand whole cantaloupes, because the melons may be contaminated with Salmonella. Raley’s has recalled 1,120 cartons of the cantaloupes, which were sold in Northern California and Nevada Raley’s, Bel Air, Nob Hill Foods and Food Source stores between October 5 and October 16, 2009.

- Animal Feed Recall (EU #2009.1367): Salmonella Banana gr. B (presence /25g) in soy bean meal from unknown origin, via Italy; notified by Austria
