Uneviscerated Chinese Fish Recalled

FDA announced today that Summit Import Corporation of Jersey City, NJ is recalling Sum Cheong Lung brand uneviscerated fish due to the risk that it might be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum. The sale of dried uneviscerated fish is not permitted in New York state, because C. botulinum spores tend to concentrate in the viscera.

The fish, which was imported from China and sold without lot number or "best before" coding in 12 oz. plastic bags, was distributed only in New York State.

Consumers who have purchased this product should return it to the store for refund.
