Allergy Alert: Sulfites in Sun-Dried Tomatoes

Chloe Foods Corporation has recalled all production codes of Marinated Sun-Dried Tomatoes, due to the presence of undeclared sulfite.

The recall was announced after the New York State Department of Agriculture & Markets detected the presence of sulfites as part of the agency's routine monitoring program. Individuals who are sensitive to sulfites may suffer severe allergy-like symptoms, including possible anaphylactic shock, after consuming a small quantity of the recalled product.

The recalled product is described as follows:

  • Chloe Farms brand Marinated Sun Dried Tomatoes (8 oz plastic container): No UPC; All lot codes; Product of USA; Distributed to Golub Corporation (501 Duanesburg Road, Schenectady, NY 12306)

The recalled product was sold in Price Chopper supermarkets and may also have been available in other supermarkets and grocery stores. Consumers who purchased the product from Price Chopper should return it to the store for a refund. Other consumers are advised to check with their local grocery store or contact Chloe Foods at 1-718-827-9000 to arrange a refund.
