United States
  • OTC Pharmaceutical Product Recall: McNeil Consumer Healthcare recalls all product lots of Children's BENADRYL® Allergy FASTMELT® Tablets in cherry and grape flavors and all product lots of Junior Strength MOTRIN® Caplets, 24 count. The recall was initiated after a review conducted as part of McNeil's Comprehensive Action Plan revealed insufficiencies in the development of the manufacturing process. The recalled products were distributed to retailers nationwide.
  • OTC Pharmaceutical Product Recall: McNeil Consumer Healthcare recalls ROLAIDS® Extra Strength Softchews, Cherry Flavor (36-count package; Lot #0053AG2), following consumer complaints of an uncharacteristic consistency or texture, traced to crystallized sugar in the product. The recalled product was distributed to retailers nationwide.


Canada
  • Food Safety Recall: Atlantic Prepared Food Limited (APFL, Establishment number 514; Alberton, PEI) recalls Ham and Cheese Sandwich was packaged in a 185 g package bearing Best Before 10 DE 06; UPC 0 55742 98002 8 and a legend with an establishment number 514. The product is known to have been distributed in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, and may have been distributed in other Atlantic provinces.
  • OTC Pharmaceutical Product Recall: McNeil Consumer Healthcare recalls all product lots of Children's BENADRYL® Allergy FASTMELT® Tablets in cherry and grape flavors. Europe
  • Food Safety Recall (UK): Warburtons Ltd. recalls Warburtons 6-Pack Crumpets (best before 22/11/10 and 23/11/10) due to possible contamination with small pieces of aluminium. The recalled crumpets were distributed within Yorkshire, Lancashire, Merseyside, West Midlands, North Wales and Greater Manchester in Sainsbury's stores and may also have been distributed to other retailers in those areas.
  • Pharmaceutical Product Safety Recall (UK): EBEWE Pharma Ges.m.b.H.Nfg.KG recalls certain batch numbers of Fluorouracil 50 mg/ml Solution for Injection 10 ml and Methotrexate 100 mg/ml Solution for Injection 10, because glass particles have been identified in a small number of vials during routine testing.
  • Pharmaceutical Product Safety Recall (France): Janssen-Cilag recalls certain lots of Velcade 3.5mg powder for injectable solution, due to the presence of visible particles in suspension in certain vials of the affected lots.
  • Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1564): Parasitic infestation with nematodes (8 dead larvae) of frozen pike (Esox lucius) fillets from the Russian Federation, via Lithuania; distributed to Poland.
  • Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1565): Too high content of E 210 - benzoic acid in mulled wine from Sweden; distributed to Finland, Norway and Sweden.
  • Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1566): Listeria monocytogenes in smoked salmon from Spain; distributed to Italy.
  • Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1567): Unauthorised use of colour E 143 - fast green FCF / FD&C green in canned soft drink from Thailand, via the Netherlands; distributed to Finland.
  • Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1568): Mold infestation in walnut kernels from Ukraine; distributed to Denmark.
  • Food Safety Notification (EU #2010.1569): Metal wire fragments (2 cm) in lollipop from Turkey; distributed to the United Kingdom.


Latin America and the Caribbean
  • OTC Pharmaceutical Product Recall: McNeil Consumer Healthcare recalls all product lots of Children's BENADRYL® Allergy FASTMELT® Tablets in cherry and grape flavors. The recall was initiated after a review conducted as part of McNeil's Comprehensive Action Plan revealed insufficiencies in the development of the manufacturing process. The recalled products were distributed in Belize, Barbados, Puerto Rico, St. Martin and St. Thomas.
