Recall Roundup: January 5, 2010

United States
  • Food Safety Recall: Limeno LLC (Lake Worth, FL) recalls 16 ounce packages of Rico Queso duro blanco (white hard cheese) distributed by Flores Food of America because they may have be contaminated with Salmonella. The recalled cheese was sold in local retail stores within Florida.


Canada
  • Meat Company Fined: Try Canada Meats Inc. (Charlottetown, PEI) pled guilty and was fined a total of $24,000 for misleading labeling that gave the false impression the company was operating as a federally registered establishment.
  • Meat Company Fined: Perfection Packers Inc. (Bedford, NS) pled guilty and was fined a total of $24,000 for misleading labeling that gave the false impression the company was operating as a federally registered establishment.


Asia, Africa & The Pacific
  • Food Safety Recall (Singapore): The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority instructs importer to recall J. Leblanc Walnut Oil after receiving advice from France that the oil is contaminated with mineral oil.
