Salmonella in Smoked Sausage

Consumers in the United Kingdom should be aware that two batches of chorizo have been recalled by Creative Ingredients Ltd, according to an alert issued by the Food Standards Agency. The recall is due to the presence of Salmonella in the sausages.

The following two batches of chorizo have been recalled:

D’elitte Chorizo Picanté Extra
Pack Size: 200g
Batch Number: 189/07
Best Before: Feb 2009

D’elitte Chorizo Suavé Extra
Pack Size: 200g
Batch Number: 26/08
Best Before: March 2009

Chorizo is a fermented, cured and smoked pork sausage, which is often eaten without further cooking. Consumers who have purchased this sausage should return it to the store for a full refund.
