Recall Roundup: December 1, 2009

United States
  • Allergy Alert: La Espiga de Oro, Inc. (Houston, TX) recalls Fiesta brand Flour Burrito Tortillas in 12 count packages, because they may contain undeclared whey (milk allergen).
  • Pet Food Recall (Update): Diamond Pet Foods reiterates September 23, 2009 recall notice for Premium Edge Finicky Adult Cat and Premium Edge Hairball Cat because they have the potential to produce Thiamine Deficiency. The recalled products were distributed in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida. Diamond has received and confirmed 21 reports of thiamine deficiency, all located in the New York and Pennsylvania areas.
  • Food Alert: Food City advises its customers of the recall of assorted Dad's Old Fashioned Soda. No reason is given for the action.
  • FDA Warning Letter: FDA warns Tyson Foods, Inc. of serious violations of the seafood Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulation and the Current Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulation for foods, after an inspection of the Company's seafood soup manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, TX.
  • FDA Warning Letter: FDA warns CFS Operating Limited (d.b.a. Cloud's Food Service) of serious violations of the seafood HACCP regulation and current GMP regulation for foods after an inspection of the Company's Longview, TX facility.
  • FDA Warning Letter: FDA warns Orval Kent Food Company, Inc. (d/b/a/ Fish House Foods, Inc.) of serious violations of the seafood HACCP regulation after an inspection of the Company's Vista, CA facility.
  • FDA Warning Letter: FDA warns CTC Food International, Inc. of serious violations of the seafood HACCP regulation after an inspection of the Company's South San Francisco, CA facility.
  • FDA Warning Letter: FDA warns United Fish Distributors, Inc. of serious violations of the seafood HACCP regulation and current GMP regulation for foods after an inspection of the Company's Detroit, MI facility.
  • FDA Warning Letter: FDA warns Culinaire Incorporated of serious violations of the seafood HACCP regulation after an inspection of the Company's Denver, CO facility.
